Why Social Connections Matter

  • Montessori Living 3015 Upton Drive Kensington, MD, 20895 United States (map)

As part of The National Center for Montessori and Aging’s (NCMA) new Montessori Longevity Coaching program, this introductory session explores the powerful connection between social engagement, well-being, and longevity. Research shows that meaningful relationships support emotional resilience, cardiovascular health, and cognitive vitality, reminding us that connection is not simply a comfort, but an essential component of healthy aging.

Together, we will explore:

• The role of social health in longevity
• How to intentionally create community
• Why many adults lack meaningful “friend time” outside of family
• Practical ways to strengthen connection across generations
