Campus Overview
Learning, Living, Longevity in One Place
Montessori Living is an intergenerational campus in Kensington, Maryland where children, adults, and elders share daily life in thoughtfully prepared environments.
Here, learning does not end when the school day is over, and community does not stop at the classroom door. Families, residents, educators, and caregivers move through the same campus spaces, gardens, gathering rooms, classrooms, and walking paths, creating natural opportunities for connection across generations.
Our campus brings together three interconnected parts of community life. Together, these three parts form a campus where learning, living, and longevity are woven into daily life.
Nature School
The Nature School offers Montessori education for children from infancy through elementary years.
Children learn through movement, exploration, and hands-on work in carefully prepared indoor and outdoor environments. Gardens, woodland areas, animals, and natural materials invite curiosity and discovery while supporting the development of independence, concentration, and responsibility.
Each day balances meaningful work, time outdoors, and community participation.
Residences
The Residences provide community-oriented apartment living within the Montessori Living campus.
Residents include families, educators, caregivers, and community members who value a quieter, more connected way of living. Shared gardens, gathering spaces, and daily campus rhythms create opportunities for neighbors to know one another and contribute to community life.
Living on campus offers a rare opportunity to experience an intergenerational community where home, learning, and belonging are closely connected.
Wellness Studio
The Wellness Studio, powered by the National Center for Montessori and Aging (NCMA), extends Montessori principles to lifelong well-being.
Programs include caregiver education, dementia support training, longevity learning experiences, and community gatherings focused on aging with dignity and purpose.
The studio supports families, professionals, and community members who are caring for loved ones or seeking new ways to support healthy aging.
