Letter To Our Community

Dear Friends,

Please know we deeply appreciate the many supportive notes and letters we've received since the COVID-19 global virus was announced. Thank you for the outpouring of generosity that has been offered. Many of you have volunteered financial resources or in-kind support for our Intergenerational Community and most especially prayers and good wishes for the health and well-being of our staff who are the heart of Crossway Community!

Crossway is filled with gratitude for this outpouring of support. This experience has awakened compassion in how we respond to each other. Hopefully, this challenging time in our history will bring us all closer and will allow us to be more present to each other in so many meaningful ways. Through these experiences a different organization, a different school will emerge; one in which we are all more deeply connected and known to each other.

Our campus will remain closed through Sunday, April 26th. While this is not the outcome we were hoping for, we are ready. Our teachers and our support staff have been working days and weekends to plan and deliver a meaningful Montessori experience through distance learning tools. We've been pleased to welcome almost every student each day, bright and early!

Plans are underway through distance learning for additional educational opportunities including foreign language instruction, movement classes, culinary arts, and art enrichment - all delivered using the Montessori philosophy. We understand the challenge of balancing work and family as you struggle to work from home while you have young children. Options like virtual play dates and accessing the Crossway Community web site will provide options for keeping connected and new resources for at home families.

Our Guides will be available for scheduled weekly family consultation, as needed. More details to follow.

Your families, each and every child and parent, has been a blessing in building our wonderful community. We have great confidence that together we will get through this challenge to our world and emerge a stronger and more connected global community.

With great appreciation,

Kathleen Guinan, CEO, Crossway Community

Ann Byrne, Deputy Director for Montessori Education
