What does a community do in a time of social distancing?

At Crossway, where we build community across age and culture, when the going gets tough, we practice gratitude. Gratitude improves resiliency and happiness.

Everything we do is based on reducing social isolation and building community.  After our school closes; after our employees are told to work from home; after we inform our residents that it is not a snow day; we practice gratitude.

Nothing is quite the same as a hug, a handshake or looking someone in the eyes and smiling, but with all of our technological advancements, we can do this. We can talk on the phone, email, use social media, journal, be mindful, meditate, get engrossed in a good book or a TV series. We can take an online class or clean our closets.  But most importantly, we can live gratefully.

Here is an uplifting article to get your started:  Living Gratefully in the Time of Corona Virus.
