90 Days of Gratitude, Grace and Wonder
"Let us live together in peace and love in a Beloved Community." Martin Luther King Jr.
The past 90 days have been filled with gratitude, grace and wonder. We are grateful for all of your support. Thank you for stocking our food pantry, purchasing cloth face masks, donating funds and offering encouragement to the many essential workers who live on our intergenerational campus.
It is a wonder to be back on campus and witness the resiliency and growth of our community. We celebrate the fact that we have not had one case of coronavirus on our campus. We attribute this to the excellent preventive measures we've taken including hand washing, enhanced cleaning of our public space, the use of masks and social distancing.
We've also undertaken the public health education of our team. Approximately 70 percent of our team has successfully taken the Covid-19 Tracing Certification offered by Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Our executive team continues to meet regularly to clarify our values and mission and learn how we are all interconnected. In addition to providing online learning, our team is attending seminars, learning new skills, presenting projects and gaining a new understanding of cross-functional responsibilities.
We were early beneficiaries of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and it enabled us to pay some of our utility bills, some of our operating expenses and it has prevented us from furloughing our team. We are very proud of the fact that we were able to keep our wonderful team employed during a very difficult time.
We have applied for additional grants and are waiting to hear back.
Now we must begin again to build our school capacity while complying with state education and health guidelines as our MINIMUM standard for providing the highest quality education and care for young children! It is important to note that the cost of educating a child exceeds tuition. If you have any questions about the value of a Montessori education, we encourage you to watch this video.
We have created a beautiful outdoor environment and we have a renewed and dynamic vision for community, creativity and learning for all families. Hope, we have learned, is contagious too. We hope you will join our community and share in our future.
