Craft Workshop (December 3, 2011)
We had a wonderful crafts-making morning on Saturday, December 3, 2011 thanks to the generosity and graciousness of several members of the Washington Wellesley Club. They joined us and provided materials so that our Family Leadership Academy students—and a few of their older children—could fashion gifts to give for the holidays. The creativity shown in the bead necklaces, bracelets, and earrings and in the decorating of picture frames and porcelain tiles was truly impressive. We all learned from each other!
Harvest Festival 2011
Over two hundred children, parents, grandparents, guests and volunteers made Thursday night’s Harvest Festival one of Crossway’s most successful! Parent volunteers assisted faculty and staff prepare the environment, contributed refreshments and supplies, and helped clean up at the end of the evening. Volunteers from St. Andrew’s parish, Connelly School of the Holy Child, Academy of the Holy Cross, and Montessori alums Gabrielle Johnson and Taylor Washington pitched in to paint faces, supervise crafts, and serve refreshments. Over $700 was raised to support Crossway’s “Healthy Eating” nutrition education program for children. A wonderful time was had by all!
